Want to Get Married at Riot Fest? Here’s How!
For the second year in a row, Riot Fest, the hugely popular Chicago punk rock festival, will have a designated chapel where attendees can get married.
“Last year, we granted a long-requested wish to Riot Fest: a wedding chapel. It was a huge success, with 32 lovely pairs walking out of Riot Fest 2021 as married couples,” the fest announced via press release. “So today, we’re happy to share that Riot Fest’s Wedding Chapel is back for 2022!”
Partners wanting to tie the knot can visit the Riot Fest website to sign up for a preferred time. Couples will need to obtain a wedding certificate from Cook County (where Riot Fest is held) and have to bring their own witness. Riot Fest will provide an ordained minister and a pre-decorated chapel, plus they’ll have a photographer on site to capture all the magic. The Riot Fest nuptials are real and legally binding, so be sure you’re ready to take the plunge before signing up.
Held every year in Chicago’s Douglass Park, Riot Fest is one of the largest independently owned festivals in the nation. The 2022 edition will run Sept. 16-18, with a lineup boasting an impressive array of talent. Nine Inch Nails, My Chemical Romance, the Misfits, Portugal. the Man, Alkaline Trio, Bleachers, Bad Religion, Yungblud, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ice Cube, Yellowcard and Jimmy Eat World are among the many acts on this year’s bill.
